USA v. Spain Austin Davis Cup Tickets
Rafael Nadal is coming to Texas! The ATP's top tennis player and his crew of Spaniards are scheduled to be in Austin, Texas this July to play the U.S.A. in the Davis Cup quarterfinal round.
The tie will be held at the 15,000 seat Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas on July 8-10. Team USA will again be led by Austin native Andy Roddick and doubles greats Bob and Mike Bryan. The tie begins on Friday, July 8 with singles, then doubles on Saturday followed by reverse singles on Sunday the 10th.
The matchup also will be the home debut for new Davis Cup captain and American tennis legend Jim Courier. “We are excited to play in Austin as we have not hosted a tie in the U.S. for quite some time,” said Courier, who made his debut as captain in the United States’ first round win over Chile earlier this month. “We will be ready to use our crowd’s energy for what promises to be an exciting and challenging tie versus Spain.”
This will be the fifth Davis Cup tie played in Texas, the first since the U.S. defeated Spain, 3-1, in the 2002 quarterfinal at the Westside Tennis Club in Houston. The U.S. has never been defeated in the state.
With Nadal making a first-ever trip to Texas this is going to be one of the hottest Davis Cup tennis tickets in recent memory.
