Bryans Start Strong at ATP Masters Cup Doubles

While the Bryan brothers have no chance of finishing the year No. 1, they started strong in the defense of their Masters Cup Doubles title Saturday with a 6-3, 7-6(4) win over Argentines Gaston Etlis and Martin Rodriguez.

Other winners were Zimbabwe's Wayne Black/Kevin Ullyett (d. Martin Damm/Cyril Suk) and Jonas Bjorkman/Todd Woodbridge (d. Mahesh Bhupathi/Max "The Beast" Mirnyi).

On court Sunday are world No. 1s Mark Knowles/Daniel Nestor vs. Belgians Xavier "X-Man" Malisse/Olivier "The Roach" Rochus, Bhupathi/Mirnyi vs. Etlis/Rodriguez, and Bryan/Bryan vs. Bjorkman/Woodbridge.
