Also into the semis were unseeded Italian Antonella Serra Zanetti (d. (8) Peer in three) and No. 3 seed Gisela Dulko (d. Yuan from a set down).

Saturday's semifinal match-ups will be (1) Petrova vs. Ant. Serra Zanetti (career series tied 1-1) and (3) Dulko vs. (2) Vaidisova (Vaidisova leads 1-0).

"I'm looking forward to playing Nicole," Dulko said. "She is on a big streak right now and I know she's going to come out and play hard. I just have to play my game because I have nothing to lose. I'm going to go out there and have fun and we'll see."
