Fast Serve Winners vs Pros at Tennis Channel Open

Posted on February 23, 2006

Next week in Las Vegas, any amateur who thinks they've got what it takes to challenge the pros in a fast-serving competition can compete to win a spot against the pros at The Tennis Channel Open presented by Panasonic.

During the Monday of the event, amateurs will compete from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the Top 4 finishers competing against the pros on Tuesday on Center Court at the Darling Memorial Tennis Center.

Fans can register online at The Tennis Channel Open website for $20, or onsite for $30 (registration fee does not include price of admission).

Each registrant will gets five serves with no practice serves (get ready to throw out that shoulder socket!), the serve must be "in," and racquets and balls will be provided (but you can bring your own).

The four competitors with the fastest serves on Monday will compete in the finals of the Fast Serve Contest on Tuesday against the pros.
