REVIEW/PREVIEW
In action shortened by rain Saturday, (15)Gonzalez
was the only upset victim, beaten in five sets
by powerful young American Taylor Dent. Dent,
who notched his first career five set win, saved
a match point in the fourth set before earning
the win as Gonzalez went gonzo missing three forehands
in the final game. In the evening card, old man
Todd Martin shrugged off a Minnie Driver-less
Robby GInepri in four sets. Martin now gets Juan
Carlos Ferrero in another winable match. Wow,
could the 33-year-old Martin still be standing
on the final weekend? Watch out! Also advancing
were (3)Ferrero (d. (33)Chela), (5)Coria (d. Carraz),
(6)Hewitt (d. Stepanek), and (11)Srichaphan (d.
Verdasco). Todd Martin beat Robby Ginepri in the
unseeded night feature match in four sets. "This
is going to be another one I go into with no pressure
on me," said Blake about playing Club Fed
today. "I think that's when I play some of
my best tennis."

(d. Frazier), (15)Sugiyama (d. Pratt), and (29)Schiavone
(d. Pisnik). Unseeded Mary Pierce (d. Asagoe)
and Dinara Safina (d. Schaul) also advanced.
