Venus Collects Second Straight WTA Title with Warsaw Win

Who's better hotter on the WTA Tour of late than Venus Williams? Answer: No one. On Sunday, the Williams earned her second straight tour title with an impressive 6-1, 6-4, win over Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova to capture the JS Cup in Warsaw, Poland.

Williams, the No. 2 seed, needed just 57 minutes to dispatch the fourth-seeded Kuznetsova in the final, where a year ago she fell to France's Amelie Mauresmo.

"The things I've been able to do the last couple of weeks have been great," said Williams, who will move to No. 11 in the new WTA Rankings. "I think I've been able to force the issue and really get my movement back to the way it used to be before my injuries."

The win for Williams avenges a February loss to Kuznetsova in Dubai, and marks the American's 11th consecutive tour match win, which includes a title a Charleston and two victories last weekend in Fed Cup play.

"Venus played really well today," said Kuznetsova, who was seeking her third career title. "I think she has done a great job after being out for so long, to come back and be able to win two titles in a row."
