Amelie Mauresmo advanced to her third Berlin final by spanking No. 6 seed Jennifer Capriati 6-2, 6-0 in 53 minutes.
The final will be the first meeting between the two since last year on clay at Warsaw, where Venus was forced to retire in the third set of the final after injuring her abdominal muscles, a injury which would haunt her for the remainder of the year.
