World No. 1
Roger Federer's claycourt quest hit a detour Friday at the ATP Masters Series-Monte Carlo when the Swiss was defeated 6-7(1), 6-2, 7-6(8) by French qualifier
Richard Gasquet.
The loss ended Federer's 25-match winning streak, with Gasquet becoming the youngest French player at 18 years of ever to ever upend a No. 1 player.
Federer broke serve with Gasquet attempting to serve it out at 5-4 in the third, but was outlasted by the speedy Frenchman in the tiebreak.
