Defending Wimbledon champion
Maria Sharapova rolled past
Nuria Llagostera Vives 6-2, 6-2 in under an hour Tuesday at the All-England Club, alternating between spraying balls and showing the punishing game that brought her to last year's title.
The unsmiling Russian was all business in slapping two-handed swinging volleys out of the air to crush through the opening game, finally smiling as she wrapped up the match in 58 minutes.
"I just go out there and fight, and do the best I can," Sharapova said. "I'm just going to enjoy it and just play my game, that's exactly the same as I did last year."
