The two remaining seeds at the WTA stop in Bangalore advanced into the semifinals Friday when No. 3 Mara Santangelo defeated Yuliana Fedak 6-4, 6-3, and No. 6 Jelena Kostanic beat Maria Elena Camerin when the Italian retired in the first set with injury.

Also into the semis was unseeded No. 140-ranked 17-year-old American Vania King (d. Pin) through to her first tour semifinal, and Hungarian Melina Czink (d. A.Bondarenko 7-6 in the third).

"At 4-2 in the second set, I felt extremely tired, but wasn't going to sacrifice the match," King said. "Camille was keeping her returns very low and deep. She was playing her shots into to the corners."

Pin had earlier taken out top seed Sania Mirza.

"I think I gave it all in my match against Mirza," Pin said. "I managed to come back a little in the second set at 2-4, but I didn't have the energy to pull off turnaround that I managed on Wednesday."

King's previous tour highlight was qualifying at last year's US Open and reaching the second round.

Saturday's semifinal match-ups will be Czink vs. (6) Kostanic, and King vs. (3) Santangelo.
