Jankovic Exits with Injury at Quebec City

The injury bug again struck a top player Friday on the WTA Tour.

Top seed Jelena Jankovic crashed out of the Bell Challenge in Quebec City Friday, retiring trailing 1-3 in the third set against No. 8 Olga Poutchkova with a lower back injury.

Seeds successfully moving into the semifinals Friday were No. 2 Marion Bartoli, crushing No. 6 Shenay Perry 6-1, 6-0, and No. 4 Severine Bremond, easing past Martina Sucha 6-1, 6-4.

American Lilia Osterloh became the only unseeded player to advance into the semis when she defeated Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak 6-3, 6-2.

Saturday's match-ups are Poutchkova vs. Bremond, and Osterloh vs. Bartoli.
