Sharapova Makes Over Stafford

Posted on April 23, 2009

Maria Sharapova will be featured in a segment of the next edition of ESPN's primetime news magazine, E:60, on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 p.m. ET, appearing with Matthew Stafford, the University of Georgia quarterback who will be a top pick -- possibly #1 overall -- in this weekend's NFL Draft on ESPN and ESPN2.

As ESPN says, "As one of the most glamorous players in women's professional tennis, Maria Sharapova has appeared on dozens of magazine covers and in countless commercials and ads. So, who better to give the top NFL draft prospect Matthew Stafford, quarterback for the University of Georgia Bulldogs, a makeover before a cover shoot for ESPN the Magazine."

Sharapova, who has yet to play a singles match in 2009 due to her slow recovery from shoulder surgery, is apparently in the mood for sharing -- her beauty tips.

ESPN says, "E:60 correspondent Rachel Nichols went behind the scenes in Los Angeles for a humorous and candid report that includes Stafford arriving at the shoot looking more like a disheveled college student than a future pro quarterback on the cusp of earning millions. After telling Sharapova that his hair was off limits, Stafford's makeover turned out to be much more than he bargained for as he received fashion tips from the Russian tennis star."

Possibly one tips was, 'Don't sign with the Lions.'
