  • Began playing at age four with his father, Peter, who is Austrian and a former European champion in judo and ex-schoolmate of Hollywood star and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, who came to watch a match in Los Angeles in 2001
  • Following 2004 Los Angeles win, Haas went to the Governor's house for celebratory dinner

  • Moved to Bradenton, Fla. to attend Nick Bollettieri Academy at age 11 and has been there full-time since he was 13
