No. 6 seed Amy Frazier won her first title of the year in the last week of regular-season play Sunday at the WTA stop in Quebec City, turning back No. 8-seeded Swede Sofia Arvidsson 6-1, 7-5.

It was the American's eighth career title and first since Hobart in 2004.

"Winning any tournament is very exciting," said the 33-year-old Frazier, who is taking courses to become a mathematics teacher after her playing days. "I have good memories here, it is such a nice event. I play for fun, and that's the only reason I play."

The unseeded Russian tandem of Rodionova/Vesnina won the doubles title, defeating No. 4 seeds Dekmeijere/Harkleroad 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2.
