Frazier Dismisses French Champ Myskina at Wimbledon

No. 2-seeded Russian Anastasia Myskina, looking to extend her mojo from the Roland Garros crown to the All England Club, was upended Friday at Wimbledon by No. 31-seeded American Amy "Joltin' Joe" Frazier 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

"Yeah, I was pretty slowly today," Myskina said. "I didn't move as well as I should move. And I think I just deserved to lose this match because I wasn't really ready to win. Amy was playing pretty good, I think, and she really want to win the match."

Frazier is in her 16th Wimbledon, and has reached the fourth round for a second time.


``Every year I walk in, it's the same: You can't believe you're at Wimbledon,'' said the 31-year-old Frazier. ``It's exactly how you picture it. It's special.''

Other seeded losers on Friday were (15)Patty Schnyder (l. to Gagliardi in three), (18)Francesca Sciavone (l. to Golovin, winning one game), (26)Lisa Raymond (l. to Cervanova), and (27)Alicia Molik (l. to Tanasugarn).

The loss comes just a day after No. 3 seed Venus Williams was upset by Karolina Sprem in a controversial match .

Twelve other seeds advanced in (1)Serena (d. Foretz), (4)Amelie Mauresmo (d. Hopkins), (5)Lindsay Davenport (d. Panova), (7)Jennifer Capriati (d. the Brit Baltacha), (9)Paola Suarez (d. Callens), (10)Nadia Petrova (d. Vanto-Kabchi in three), (11)Ai Sugiyama (d. Bartoli), (12)Vera "Warren" Zvonareva (d. Navratilova-killer Gisela "Sgt." Dulko), (13)Maria Sharapova (d. Six un-seeds also advanced in Spaniard Virginia Ruano Pascual (d. Nagyova), Virginie Razzano (d. Likhovtseva), Anne "Cosmo" Kremer (d. Sun), Tatiana Perebiynis (d. Sequera), Magui "Don't Call Me Maggie" Serna (d. the Brit O'Donoghue), and Rita "Ain't It" Grande (d. Parra Santonja in three).
