Moya Shocked by Roach at US Open

No. 3 seed Carlos Moya was outlasted in five sets Saturday at the US Open by 5'5" Belgian Olivier "The Roach" Rochus, a player who had never won a round at the US Open."I guess that he must be very happy right now," said Moya, who double faulted on match point to lose 5-7 in the fifth. "It's a great win...I think he played a very good match."
Moya said The Roach's current standing outside the Top 50 on the ATP Rankings is no indication of his skill.
"He's very complete, he's doing everything OK," Moya said. "Tennis right now is very close. I mean, any player can beat one of the top players."
Moya had beaten The Roach 6-0, 7-6 just weeks earlier at the Athens Olympics.
"In Athens I beat (Mark) Philippoussis before losing to Moya," Rochus said. "I came here without pressure."
In the fourth round Rochus will face No. 22 seed Dominik "The Dominator" Hrbaty, who straight-setted No. 15 Paradorn "The Thai Fighter" Srichaphan on Saturday.
