Rain Stops Mauresmo, Molik at WTA Doha

Rain is plaguing the semifinals Friday at the WTA Qatar Total Open in Doha, with play stopped at 3-3 in the first set between top-seeded Frenchwoman Amelie Mauresmo and No. 4 Alicia Molik of Australia.

Due up in the second semifinal is No. 2-seeded Russian pin-up Maria Sharapova versus unseeded Slovak pin-up Daniela Hantuchova.

Mauresmo is gunning for her second consecutive title after winning last week in Antwerp, defeating Venus Williams in the final.
