The seeds went 2-0 Monday at the WTA stop in Seoul, with winners (6) Vera Douchevina (d. Spears) and (8) Marion Bartoli (d. Tanasugarn 0-and-1).
Un-seeds into the second round were Argentina's Mariana Diaz-Oliva (d. Washington in three), Japan's Aiko Nakamura (d. (WC) K.-M. Chang), and American Meghann Shaughnessy (d. Panova).
Also into the main draw after the final round of qualifying were Martina Muller (GER), Eva Hrdinova (CZE), Saori Obata (JPN), and Vilmarie Vastellvi (PUR).
On tap for Tuesday are Hrdinova vs. Dulko, Laine vs. Vaidisova, Craybas vs. Sugiyama, Jankovic vs. Bremond, Peer vs. Granville, Muller vs. Arvidsson, Vento-Kabchi vs. Obata, Pin vs. Morigami, and Castano vs. Castellvi.
