Jankovic, Williams Sisters Headline at WTA Bangalore Posted on March 2, 2008
India's Sania Mirza is skipping her homecountry event due to the intense media spotlight, but three of the Top 10 players are posting this week for the WTA Tour's lone event, the Bangalore Open.
Serb Jelena Jankovic is the top seed, with Americans Venus and Serena Williams rounding out the Top 10 representation.
Other seeded players are Swiss Patty Schnyder, Hungarian Agnes Szavay, Austrian Sybille Bammer, and Russians Vera Zvonareva and Maria Kirilenko.
Seeded in the bottom half, the Williams sisters are slated to meet in the semifinals.
In last year's final, Russian Yaroslava Shvedova upset No. 1 seed Mara Santangelo of Italy in straight sets.
