Popular Frenchmen Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has officially pulled out of the US Open with a left knee injury, the tournament confirmed this afternoon.

Tsonga is a 3-time US Open quarterfinalist. It’s the only Slam he hasn’t reached the semifinals at. He fell in the second round last year to Denis Shapovalov in straight sets.

Tsonga hasn’t played since Montpellier on February 10. He underwent surgery on the knee on April 3.

Tsonga recently got married to longtime girlfriend Noura El Swekh in July. The couple have a baby boy, Shugar, born in March of 2017.

After a career of injuries and at age 33 with a growing family, retirement could be approaching fast.

Tsonga joins Tomas Berdych and Alexandr Dolgopolov among the men who will not be in New York.
