Like in Antwerp, all quarterfinal matches in Moscow today also ended in straight sets.

Home fans were happy with the results as Russians Aslan Karatsev and Karen Khachanov were both winners.

Karatsev, the Australian Open semifinalist, overpowered French veteran Gilles Simon 6-4, 6-3 to reach his fourth career ATP final four, and first since Belgrade last spring.

2018 Moscow champion Khachanov had a tougher day edging John Millman 7-5, 7-6(4).

“I think it is great we are having an all-Russian semi-final, so I want the crowd to come and cheer for both of us,” said Karatsev.

Khachanov has won both tour meetings with Karatsev, and leads 4-1 including Challengers.

Former US Open champion Marin Cilic reached is fourth semifinal of the year ousting Pedro Martinez 6-1, 6-2. He’ll take on lucky loser Ricardis Berankis who upended Adrian Mannarino 6-2, 7-6(1).

“Today was an amazing match from my side, serving and everything was working well,” Cilic told the crowd. “I feel match after match I am playing better and better and it is great. I am enjoying this court and this stadium and thank you to the crowd for the support.”
