Kuznetsova Out, American Glatch an Upset Winner at WTA Indian Wells

No. 6 Svetlana Kuznetsova led the seeded exodus on Friday at the WTA event in Indian Wells as seven seeded players exited the BNP Paribas Open.

Kuznetsova, keeping alive her poor 2009 campaign, exited in three sets to Polish wildcard Urszula Radwanska.

Other Top 20-seeded casualties were (10) Marion Bartoli losing to Shahar Peer after winning the first set 6-1, and (16) Anabel Medina Garrigues falling to American Jill Craybas in three.

Lower seeds exiting were (24) Alona Bondarenko falling to Nicole Vaidisova, (26) Iveta Benesova losing to fellow Czech Petra Kvitova, (29) Carla Suarez Navarro winning only four games against American wildcard Alexa Glatch, and (32) Sorana Cirstea losing in three to Russian Elena Vesnina.

Stadium 1 court matches on Saturday in Indian Wells are Cetkovska vs. Dementieva, Ivanovic vs. Yakimova, and Pavlyuchenkova vs. Jankovic.
