Clijsters Beats Sharapova for Miami Title

Unseeded Kim Clijsters showed her depth of shot Saturday, mixing up her groundstrokes and net play to defeat the one-dimensional game of Maria Sharapova 6-3, 7-5 Saturday for the WTA Miami title, the Nasdaq-100 Open.

It was the Belgian's second consecutive title after Indian Wells.

"Obviously from today's performance she's a top-five player,'' Sharapova said of Clijsters, only the second player after Steffi Graf to win the Indian Wells-Miami double in the same year.

Clijsters will now take a much-deserved rest for her surgically-repaired wrist.

``It has been an incredible four weeks,'' Clijsters said. ``I'm just going to try to enjoy it as much as I can.''
