by Staff | January 8th, 2018, 9:58 am

As a custody dispute over baby Leo with ex Billy McKeague continues, 2-time champion Victoria Azarenka withdrew yesterday from the Australian Open.

“It’s unfortunate ‘Vika’ is unable to travel to Australia this year. The Australian Open is her favourite tournament and she’s looking forward to returning to Melbourne next year,” tournament director Craig Tiley said.

The 28-year-old former No. 1 has not played since Wimbledon.

New Australian Open slogan: “Maybe this is YOUR year!”

RZ Says:

Such a shame that she hasn’t been able to compete due to a custody battle. You would think her potential prize money winnings would be a reason for all parties to agree for temporary travel with the baby.

StarvingActor Says:

this is just unfortunate. Well maybe she can play an extra year or 2 at the end

Humble Rafa Says:

Always sleep with your husbands.

Pamela Says:

What is unfortunate is that her baby daddy is being such a dick. On top of that the Judge told Vika if she leaves the jurisdiction that’s that. There is no reason the Judge could not have let her go to the US Open or AO. She volunteered to pay for the baby daddy’s flight and accommodations, but he refused. The whole situation sucks big time. My heart goes out to Vika.

Willow Says:

Shame really with Serena and Vika back after both having babies, it was looking to be a great field with all the top ladies back ….

FedExpress Says:

Making babies and then get seperated?!?!

Where is the logic?
