Novak Djokovic became just the 10th player in the Open Era to reach the 800 win plateau after cruising past Adrian Mannarino 7-5, 6-1 in the Queen’s Club quarterfinals.

“There were times when I was thinking and questioning everything when I was injured and going through surgery process, but, you know, everyone has those moments,” Djokovic said.

“Everyone has doubtful moments. So that’s life. Life comes in cycles and teaches you lessons. Whether you’re going to learn them or not, it solely depends on you.

“As I said, I don’t like to put any numbers on how long and when it’s going to end. I would rather say ‘hey, I’m playing great, back again’.

“I’m 31 on the paper, but I’m 19 in the real sense. I just love to keep on going and see where it takes me.”

In the semifinals, Djokovic will take on the hot-handed Jeremy Chardy who got past American Frances Tiafoe 6-4, 6-4.

Djokovic leads Chardy 10-0 but the Frenchman has won 12 of his last 13 matches on grass including a Surbiton Challenger title.

The other semifinal pits Nick Kyrgios against top seed Marin Cilic. For the second straight match, Kyrgios cracked 32 aces in a 7-6(5), 7-6(3) win over defending champion Feliciano Lopez.

“I can’t really remember a specific time where I’ve served at this level back to back,” Kyrgios said. “I didn’t expect to serve the way I did yesterday, but I just found my rhythm early again in this match. But I felt like I had to. He was serving pretty good today.”

Cilic beat former champion Sam Querrey 7-6(3), 6-2. The Croat and Kyrgios have split two prior meetings.

“I just want to keep my grass court form going,” Kyrgios added. “I’m in a good place right now on the grass. I’m serving well. I feel good from the back. I want to just stay focused for this tournament.”

Mira Andi Says:

Cracks 32 aces??Oh My God!!…Please God!Don’t let Kyrgios land on Rafa’s quarter at Wimby!…

Also, would love to see Fed handle this in form Kyrgios…It’s going to be a firecracker if they were to meet…

Mira Andi Says:

Oh yeah!…Very much congrats to Nole for his 800th win!!…Awesome achievement!!…And i heard,he wants to play till 50!!…Yeehaaa!!

j-kath Says:

I’m peeved and p..ssed off – I paid to see Cilic/Nick match and Djokovic later and I’m not receiving anything. I can’t see it on BBC because they’re not showing it in my area – instead somebody’s buying a house.

SO, talk please – I note Cilic won first tiebreak ….is Nick going to crumble? or is he “manning up”?

Mira Andi Says:

I can’t watch the match too JK!…So,have no idea!…Strange! No one is ‘willing’ to talk today!..

j-kath Says:

Andy-Mira

I watched scoreboard and Naughty Nick lost the two tiebreaks – pity. I wonder how he behaved in the end – maybe somebody will be kind enuf to tell us.

Margot Says:

Kath: NN was fine,Bouncy Castle only had to apologise once! Cilic was dynamite. Wot? Wot? No BBC2 or red button in your area? EEEEK!
Jalep: liking Marin more and more for Wimbledon.

j-kath Says:

Andyy-Mira

I watched scoreboard and Naughty Nick lost the two tiebreaks – pity. I wonder how he behaved in the end – maybe somebody will be kind enuf to tell us.

Margot Says:

PS Kath, did you see Andy plays Beefy first round Eastbourne. Bet they wish they could have the draw over. Going to be interesting. From what I’ve seen both have the same issues, getting really tired in the 3rd set.

j-kath Says:

Thanks Margot:
N. Ireland took over and Red Button has Tennis headlines only. Must get my antenna adjusted back to S-West Scotland. Meanwhile lost my payment!!!!

j-kath Says:

Margot…..What, what, what – good lord! Andy vs. Stan!!!!

Margot Says:

Yeah Kath. Bummer :(

j-kath Says:

Margot: Just read an article on it. And as you probably know, the winner of Andy vs Stan plays Kyle Edmund…. who could certainly add to the fatigue!!!!! Hence,I’m wondering if it wouldn’t be good strategy for Andy to plan to lose over Stan to avoid absolute exhaustion – if he still hopes to play Wimbledon…oh dearie me!

j-kath Says:

Andy-Mira

A quickie. My Red Button is showing Nole vs Chardy – so ..pretty even-stephen right now. Think Nole will get it as he’s just broken serve and Chardy needs to gtake Nole’s serve to stay in the first set.

j-kath Says:

Andy-Mira – Correction – Chardy has to HOLD serve to take it to 6-all.

j-kath Says:

A-M: TIEBREAK.

Mira Andi Says:

JK!…U can watch Nole/Chardy now??Great!!…And thanks so much for the updates!…I only be able to follow livescores!Urgh!!

Margot Says:

Kath: It justs get better and better re Andy, doesn’t it? Not!
By way of trivia…Chardy and his wife must be the best looking tennis couple EVER! They are both drop dead goegeous, which I hope is some consolation for Jezza as he sure isn’t beating Nole.

j-kath Says:

A-M:
Nole took 1st set 7-5. But Chardy putting up some solid challenges spoilt by a couple of errors. Let’s see what 2nd set brings.

j-kath Says:

A-M: Even at the moment – a wee incident with Nole leaning backwards over the net. Seemingly, Nole not in his best mood today.

j-kath Says:

A-M: Some stunning tennis with Chardy holding serve. 3 vs. 2 for Chardy – but Nole serving now.

j-kath Says:

A-M: Nole about to serve for the 2nd set i.e. the match.
But was a decent contest. Bye, bye.

Mira Andi Says:

Jk!…Nole not in the best mood?I noticed it in the last couple of matches too!…maybe still not happy with some aspect of his game or serve?

Mira Andi Says:

JK!…Once again thank u for the ‘Live’ updates!…Reallyyyy enjoy it!!

j-kath Says:

Margot @ 10.53am

Oh boy….we’re certainly singing from the same hymn book…I’m up there with U. He is absolutely eye-catching…(Feliciano looks ordinary in comparison)…..and Ms.Chardy – up there with the best of them…definitely special.

j-kath Says:

A-M: U are welcome.

Willow Says:

Chardy is the best looking player on tour, agree that his wife is also a stunner, but Jez was no match for a much improved Novak ….

Willow Says:

Andi Mira a bit of a stretch for him to say he wants to play till hes 50 just under 20 years ….

Okiegal Says:

I’ll get with Judy on this….but I’m staying with Feli…..AKA Deliciano! Those blue Paul Newman peepers just make me swoon……almost. The EYES have it!!!

Novak argued about the net touch again….he’s vague regarding this rule……. like Rafa on time violation rule! Lol I wonder if team Rafa will invest in a time clock?? He better!!

Novak looks like he’s getting it back together!

Willow Says:

Okie i was waiting to hear the commies yap on about the 2013 French Open semi when Novak touched the net, but thankfully they didnt lol ….

When it comes to Wimbledon im rather sensing that something is going the happen for Nick Kyrigios ….

Still thinking Jezz is the hotter player, not many players carry off facial hair that well lol ….

Humble Rafa Says:

Novak argued about the net touch again….he’s vague regarding this rule……. like Rafa on time violation rule! Lol I wonder if team Rafa will invest in a time clock?? He better!!

No need to bring me into an unrelated issue. I have made my point clear. I like it slow. So does Xisca.

j-kath Says:

Okiegal: Dear Okie…I was painting my outbuildings and decided to decorate one eye in the process….as you do…

My GP sent me to a Senior Optometrist who eyed my eyes thoroughly – hence, with my 20-20 vision (assisted by a delightful bucketful of “drops) I can declare Gorgeous Chardy is the most stunning Tennis player in the short 300 years of tennis. As you said “THE EYES HAVE IT”.

PS: And my Evening wine is only 8% per alcohol volume.

Willow Says:

Humble Rafa Xiscas a lucky lady lol https://youtu.be/2G4NJl-LTLA

Willow Says:

J-Kath agree sorry Okie lol ….

Daniel Says:

So nice to see Djoko playing in form again. Chance for title 69 tomorrow and climb a few position sin the ranking. Also when Wimby seeds formula comes in, his last 52 grass points (possible Queens 500 + 360 Wimby QF + 250 Eastbourne will add up. Tough he will lose 250 pts from Esatbourne last week. He is safe for a top 16 seed.

Amit Says:

Imho Fed shouldnt have even played stuttgart in the first place! Ridiculous decision, though i respect his choice and freedom! Wimbledon is jeopardised now, imo Fed might have lost it already! It will be a miracle if Fed wins wimby! And at this point of his career, i wont mind even if Wimby is played with roof on, to aid him to a title! He has very few chances of winning wimby anyway! And am selfish enough to wanna see him win at least 10 wimbledon trophies!! Nadal.has won double-digit french, so my guy too must reach double-digit at wimbledon!! I prize wimbledon unspeakably!

Amit Says:

And i prize Federer the most ever, as a player and athlete! He is the sportsman of my life!!!

Amit Says:

Meanwhile Djokovic has sprung back to life, action and form all of a sudden! He is a favourite to win wimbledon! But i pick Cilic over everybody else coz he is a truly awesome player and is finally showing the will and the consistency to win!

j-kath Says:

Cilic has played his very best and earned his “Queen’s Crown”. However, it’s anyone’s guess, among a handful of contenders, who will win Wimbledon, I personally don’t believe it will be Cilic.

Andy Mira Says:

Yeah JK…Agree with u!I don’t think Cilic will win Wimby too…And for the 1st time,i have doubt Roger will retain his title as well …..

It’s going to be interesting Wimby this year…

Andy Mira Says:

Yeah JK…Agree with u!I don’t think Cilic will win Wimby too…And for the 1st time,i have doubt Roger will retain his title as well …..

It’s going to be interesting Wimby this year…

j-kath Says:

Andy Mira: Re. your comment on Roger. A number of Fed’s supporters have seemed a bit subdued this week. He’s got a week to regain his energy level…after that it will depend on how many 5 sets he may have to face and whether he’s got the stamina for it…if he manages to get thru his early matches in 3 sets, he may be OK.

Agree it’s going to be a very interesting Wimby.

Amit Says:

Dear AM and JK

I have a lot of faith in cilic game, i always had. But i needed to see him steady his mind to gain more big successes. And i think cilic has fixed his mind already to win big titles! Just my view.. 😛😜

Amit Says:

I dont see Fed winning wimby this year either.

Amit Says:

AM and Jk
Wimby is already too uncertain and interesting!

Amit Says:

I hope fed finds an extra gear for wimby though!

AndyMira Says:

JK & Amit…These last 2 weeks,Fed shown that there’s a chink in his armour…And i believe all players have noticed that as well…And imo, they will go on court believing that they have chance against ‘this’ Fed…And Fed can’t afford to have a 4 or 5 setter..Not even once…Otherwise, his campaign maybe in serious jeopardize…

All in all,i wish fed & u Amit the best of luck for Wimby k?

Amit Says:

Btw after watching Coric, its safe to say that the young guy has got some play in him! He can be a very good player! And can beat anyone on his day! Coric is so energetic: like that about him!

Amit Says:

Oh thanks AndyMira!! 😀😀😀 so sweet and kind of you for the best wishes!! 🙋🙋🙋

Amit Says:

Coric is prwtty young, so he has time on his side to improve and win a GS! Love his style of play! Fierce.. but also stylish!!

Amit Says:

Coric is slowly picking up bigger and bigger wins! And his serving style says he is super talented! He is progressing in the right direction. Long story short: he can win and probably shall win a GS! He looks a better overall player to me than even sascha! Good i found a talented player with my preferred style of tennis!😍

Humble Rafa Says:

Amit Says:
I hope fed finds an extra gear for wimby though!

Bring a walking stick?

AndyMira Says:

Hahaha…You’re welcome Amit!!…

Amit Says:

HR

May be choco stick or beer lick.

Amit Says:

HR

May be Fed can add some butt-pick as well, to his regimen, like you do.

Margot Says:

Tomic at Queens says courts are very fast. Wimbledon? Has been hot as heck here.

j-kath Says:

Margot: That heat reportedly due to continue for at least another week…great news for most players…but some may not be so pleased.

Amit @ 7.31am. Thanks for the chuckle

AndyMira Says:

Amit!…NOW i imagine Fed pick his b@#$ before he serve!…Hahaha…It’s your fault!!

The Arrogant Goat Says:

Djokovic said it himself, “Wimbledon is the most prestigious tournament in the world”. That’s the tournament that a professional tennis player dreams the most of to win. If you cannot take it, you can console yourself with the US Open. Then you lower your goal to the French Open. If nothing else, the Australian Open will do. There is an order of importance that exists which players and even fans who know the value of each tournament know. Of course, there are many silly guys here who are in denial.

Amit Says:

AM

Lolzzz.. 😜😜😜 Fed needs everything possible atm, including picking/pattin/scratchin his humble backside! 😉😛😜😈😂😂😂

Amit Says:

JK

Welcome friend w.r.t. chuckle 😈😈😈

AndyMira Says:

Hehehe…Yeah Amit!…I’m sure his buddy Rafa will give him a few tips…next thing we knew,Fed will start lining up his water bottle, touch his nose, adjust his b@#$s…Thank God,Wimby don’t have dust..otherwise Fed will clean the white line as well!..

Margot Says:

Kath: I guess it will make the courts very fast, which will benefit even more, the big servers. Or, as they’re baked, will they play like clay?
#Confused

j-kath Says:

Margot: Make that “Confused” x 2.

PS: Will Andy vs Stan be on BBC2? So far it’s all Women. Red Button is the qualifying for the BIGGIE. Didn’t see Jay Clarke but he got thru.
