Indian Wells Opens Wednesday With Isner, Monfils, Young Czechs

Two former Top 10 men will headline opening day at Indian Wells Wednesday.

The first Masters event of 2023 will feature former finalists John Isner and Nikolaz Basilishvili along with Gael Monfils.

Isner will meet fellow American Brandon Nakashima while Monfils makes his return to tennis for the first time in seven months after foot injury last summer.

Dallas champion Wibing Wu, rising Czech star Jiri Lehecka and Diego Schwartzman are also in the ticket for the men.

The women’s field opens with young American Katie Volynets and Alycia Parks on Stadium 1. Alison Riske will meet Elizabeth Mandlik on Stadium 2 along with former Top 10 Elise Mertens. Czech teens Linda Fruhvirtova and Linda Noskova are also in action.
