Andre Agassi and
David Nalbandian withdrew from the Masters Series-Paris on Monday morning, taking themselves out of the running for berths at the year-ending Masters Cup in Houston.
The withdrawals mean that
Guillermo Coria,
Marat Safin and
Tim Henman clinch the final three positions to complete the eight-man field, joining
Roger Federer,
Andy Roddick,
Lleyton Hewitt,
Gaston Gaudio and
Carlos Moya.
Agassi withdrew from the MS-Paris citing a recurring hip injury, while Nalbandian did not immediately specify an injury, saying he would be examined by the tournament doctor.
Nalbandian complained of a problem with his leg after losing in the Basel final to
Jiri Novak over the weekend, while Agassi lost to
Thomas Johansson in the Stockholm final on Sunday.
With the injury to Agassi the Masters Cup loses last year's finalist, with the American receiving a straight-set beating, including a bagel set, from Federer.
