Un-seeds Romp Over Seeded Moya, Volandri at ATP Sopot

The upsets continued Thursday at the ATP stop in Sopot as No. 4 seed and former No. 1 Carlos Moya was ousted by Italian Potito Starace in three sets, and No. 5 Filippo Volandri was straight-setted by Germany's Florian Mayer.

Starace's victory over Moya followed up on a similar victory earlier in the year over the former Roland Garros champ at the Masters Series-Rome.

Argentina's Jose Acasuso (d. (WC) Chadaj) and Fin Jarkko Nieminen (d. Almagro 7-6 in the third) gave unseeded players a 4-0 record on the day, and put the title up for grabs entering into the Friday quarterfinals.

Scheduled for Friday quarterfinal match-ups are Nieminen vs. Mayer, (3) Coria vs. (7) Andreev, Acasuso vs. Starace, and (8) Hanescu vs. Monfils.
