The winners on day two at the $600,000 Proximus Diamond Games cruised to victory with all competitors winning in straight sets.

Former Top 10 player Vera Zvonareva lost only one game in her win over qualifier Lilia Osterloh. Next up for Zvonareva is fellow Russian and No.3 seed Nadia Petrova. Zvonareva will look to break Petrova's streak of four consecutive match wins after she won the Open Gaz de France last week in Paris.

Qualifier Virginie Razzano upset world No.19 Anna-Lena Groenefeld 64 61 to set up an all-French meeting in the second round to face top seed and defending champion Amelie Mauresmo. Mauresmo holds the upper hand against Razzano, leading their encounter with two wins and no losses.

Russia's Olga Poutchkova advances via a retirement suffered by Severine Bremond. Poutchkova won the first set 76(2) before Bremond was forced to retire due to a left groin strain. The advancement gives Poutchkova her first opportunity to play world No.4 and former world No.1 Kim Clijsters.

In a meeting between two closely ranked players, world No.20 Tatiana Golovin was relentless against world No.22 Katarina Srebotnik, winning 60 62.

Recent Pattaya City champion Sybille Bammer also continued her solid form, cruising past Belgian wildcard Caroline Maes, 62 60. Elena Likhovtseva defeated Russian countrywoman and qualifier Vera Dushevina 64 61 while Nathalie Dechy gave up only two games against another qualifier, Julia Schruff. (WTA)
