Marcel Granollers won the US Men's Clay Court Championship last year, shocking top-seeded
James Blake in the final. Granollers is back this year, as is Blake who lost in the first round earlier this week.
Blake and Fish were the top two seeds, both losing first round on the red clay.
Andy Roddick (2001-02) and Jaime Yzaga (1992-93) are the only two players to win back-to-back US Clay Court titles. Two other career No. 1s joined Roddick as US Clay Court winners: Jim Courier (1998) and Andre Agassi (2003). The legendary "Woodies," Aussies Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge, are the only doubles team to win back-to-back titles in 1994-95:
