No. 5-seeded Hungarian Melinda Czink topped No. 4-seeded Czech Lucie Safarova 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 to win her career-first title on Sunday in the all-left-handed final of the Bell Challenge in Quebec City, Canada. The 26-year-old beat No. 1 seed Nadia Petrova in the quarters and No. 3 seed Aleksandra Wozniak in the semis.
"I haven't really processed it yet but I will," Czink said. "I went match by match this week. This was the toughest match this week. I had to take some risks on her serve today -- sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. We really pushed each other, and I'm happy I could come out the winner."

No. 5-seeded Israeli pulled out of her slump on Sunday by winning the Guangzhou title, defeating No. 8-seeded Italian Alberta Brianti 6-3, 6-4 in the final.
The 22-year-old Peer wins her fourth singles title, with her other three coming in 2006. Brianti was appearing in her first tour final.
