2024 Madrid Masters – Schedule, Records, Past Winners, History
With a month before the start of the French Open, the clay seasons resumes in Madrid, how of the fabled “Magic Box”.
No surprise as Spain has reigned in Madrid with Rafael Nadal collecting five titles and Carlos Alcaraz the last two. But Nadal enters for the first time as a play not expected to win the crown. And Alcaraz remains a question mark after recent right arm issues.
Three-time Novak Djokovic withdrew from Madrid and fellow winner Andy Murray will also miss event.
That will leave things up to Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev and the last Slam winner, Jannik Sinner, to lead the way.
In the women’s field, Iga Swiatek remains the best on clay but Aryna Sabalenka is a 2-time champion and Elena Rybakina comes in hot.
Coco Gauff and Maria Sakkari figure to be in the mix, as well.
