No, the title was not meant to embarrass Nadal. It was supposed to catch the reader’s attention. That’s the purpose of titles so that the reader will be interested in reading the article. It served its purpose well and if you read the article, it clearly was not meant to embarrass Nadal. It’s a funny article and everything was factual, so, kudos to the writer.

That’s would be a very dull title for an article. A title has to catch one!s attention quickly and generate enough interest for the reader to read the article. A title that says somebody spilled water is too inconsequential for a title.

Gotta agree with ATL and Okiegal and say that the credibility of this forum has hit an all time low with this thread,i remember a couple of years ago this forum putting up a sketch that was seen on a French TV programme of Rafa starting a car by urinating into the petrol tank (say no more),strange and sad really what people seem to think passes for humour,and funny also how these type of threads only ever seem to be about poking fun at Rafas expence(why am i not surprised),you never seem to see it about any other player,not that i would condone that dont get me wrong,as my late mother used to say little things please little minds,and bigger fools watch.

2. Madmax…..like your ‘before or after’ comment.
3. It’s unlikely that Nadal reads Tennis x so he won’t feel either embarrassed or belittled. However Nadal fans feel free to be embarrassed and belittled on his behalf.
4. In short, it seems with recent articles, that the writers could be either ‘taking the Mickey’ or becoming irritated by the lack of thoughtful or incisive responses. Whatever the case, it’s working.
5. RBTR: wetting is a universal term, not just common to USA. It can be applied to babies, toddlers, the old, those stuck in a three hour traffic jam, readers laughing heartily at your posts, Wafa and Woger fan girls……..

Rafa draws attention no matter what he does or doesn’t do. The man is an icon and the world is hungry for news, any news. Who can blame them? The name Rafael Nadal is so impressive in itself. He gets world wide attention for burning his finger for example. Nuff said.

I think you need to grow a pair of balls hippy. I think when you stary mentioned your own kind, Giles, slice tennis and whoever else is vamossing rafa at the expense of belittling roger, then I will know you play fair and square. For now and for quite a while actually, you havent. Don’t make out its others like me who cause problems here. I have been here many a year, and you? I was defending Rafa because I thought the writer’s byline could have been embarrassing to Rafa. I think you misunderstood what we were trying to say. Hey I defend Rafa everyday on this forum…..We may have a language barrier, you know some things could mean something else in another country. Have ever I burnt fingers? Yes, I cook believe it or not. But cutting the fingers by mistake is more common ( big bummer if it is your racket hand), something Rafa never has to worry about unless he cleans his own fish!

I was reading a different meaning altogether than what you read. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one. Did I think Rafa actually wet in his pants? No. In the USA when a person is said to have wet himself, that usually means they urinated in their pants.
