Montpellier, France; surface: indoor hard

Seeds: Marin Cilic, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Richard Gasquet, Alexander Zverev, Feliciano Lopez, Mischa Zverev, Marcel Granollers, Fernando Verdasco

Floaters: Dustin Brown, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, Daniel Evans

Notes: Cilic the only Top 10er but a lot of big second-tier names, along with both Zverev brothers seeded for possibly the first time together at a tour event…The Top 4 seeds receive opening-round byes…Potential tough starts for (1) Cilic after a bye vs. the Brown and G-Lo winner, and (6) Mischa Zverev vs. the fast-rising Evans…The wildcards were spread out between F-Lo, Alexander Zverev and France’s Quentin Halys…Gasquet beat Paul-Henri Mathieu in last year’s all-French final…Former champs in the field are the two-time defending winner Gasquet (2016-15,’13,’06) and Mathieu (2002)…Gasquet with a victory this year would match the tournament’s only three-time consecutive winner Pete Sampras (1991-93).

Sofia, Bulgaria; surface: indoor hard

Seeds: Dominic Thiem, David Goffin, Grigor Dimitrov, Roberto Bautista Agut, Gilles Muller, Philipp Kohlschreiber, Marcos Baghdatis, Martin Klizan

Floaters: Viktor Troicki, Andreas Seppi

Notes: Thiem the only Top 10er, and Dimitrov must have received a chunk as he decided to return to his home-country tournament in 2017 after a perceived diss last year…The Top 4 seeds receive opening-round byes…Wildcards went to Turkey’s Cem Ilkel and Bulgarians Dimitar Kuzmanov and Alexander Lazarov…(8) Klizan is looking at Troicki second round, and (7) Baghdatis is looking at Seppi…Nicolas Almagro and John Millman pulled from the event…Bautista Agut beat Troicki in last year’s final.
