The semifinals in Shanghai feature four former US Open champions including reigning winner Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer who are now just one victory each from a meeting on Sunday.

Nadal increased his win streak to 15 after a third win over Grigor Dimitrov this season and third decided in a final set with a 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3 victory. Nadal led by 4-2 in the second set breaker before Dimitrov ran off five straight points to push for a decider.

Nadal saved a break point at 2-all then took the match.

“It was a very tough match,” said Nadal. “I think both of us, we played at a very high level of tennis. The conditions, of course, have been different today than my two previous matches. I think a great battle between two players who are playing all the time very focused, very intense points all the time. I think both of us served very well during the whole match, so yeah, it was decided on just a few balls, and anything can happen.”

Nadal will now face Marin Cilic who dominated Albert Ramos Vinolas 6-4, 6-3. Nadal has won four of five in that series with Cilic’s lone win coming in Beijing 8 years ago!

“He always is very dangerous opponent, and I think this surface, this court helps him,” Nadal said of Cilic. “It’s a very fast court. He’s able to go for the shots from the baseline. It will be a tough one. I know that I need to be very focused with my serve again, and I need to play aggressive and don’t let him play from comfortable positions. If not, I will be almost dead because he is going to go for the shots.”

Federer kept his slim hopes for No. 1 alive edging Richard Gasquet 7-5, 6-4. The Swiss is now 10-0 on hard courts against the Frenchman.

“I thought it was a really good match. Some big points, important shots at the right time for both guys sometimes to stay even, and we both created chances,” said Federer. “I thought we were able to keep up the level from the beginning till the very end.”

His next opponent, Juan Martin del Potro, had to overcome Viktor Troicki in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 and also a scary fall during the match which appeared to injure in his surgically-repaired left wrist at 2-all, 15-all in the third set. After treatment, del Potro managed to close out the Serb winning three of the last four games, but went to the hospital for an MRI and further evaluation.

“I’m glad to reach semifinals in this tournament,” del Potro said. “But to be honest now, as I say always, the health is the first of all of my life. And I have been dealing with all my injuries in the past, and now it’s time to take care of my body, see what the MRI say or what the doctor says.

“If nothing dangerous happened, I will be here for play tomorrow and doing my best.”

By reaching the semifinals, del Potro will return to the Top 20 for the first time since October 2014 three years.

Federer leads del Potro 16-6 but the Argentine just beat him at the US Open last month.

“I hope for him that it’s nothing serious. Of course it’s on the wrist, as well, that he’s had problems in the past, so this is where he’s worried, rightfully so. For me, at the end of the day, nothing changes. I’m ready to come out here tomorrow and see the match like it’s a revenge chance for the US Open, where it was tight and I couldn’t win. So I see that more than his injury,” Federer said. “But I hope for now that Juan Martin can recover and we can play a normal match.”

Humble Rafa Says:

Uncle Toni just reminded me that the Arrogant One has committed to playing Basel until 2019, when he will turn 100.

As a Humble gentleman, I don’t commit to anything. Not to Xisca, not to the FO, not to the Tennis Gods, no one.

gonzalowski Says:

nice interview in Marca with Rafa.
There are quite humble statements :) such as: “win also tires you” or “Federer and we have been an example”

you’ll like Tx’s great Rafa fans like Willow etc.

gonzalowski Says:

Rafa playing very well, first Cilic’s serve 10 mins. and a lot of deuces, finally holds serve, with some good winners.

FedExpress Says:

how many time do we see it? Cilic cant break and immediately Rafa breaks him. too many mental midgets playing this game.

yesterday Dimitrov, now Cilic

Wog Boy Says:

Actually it was Rafa who had six break opportunities before Cilic had his first break point and he almost paid the price for not converting them, is he mental midget too?
High quality match.

gonzalowski Says:

uuuuh 3 set balls saved by Rafa, with great serves and volley (and Cilic failures), but the next game breaks him (not well here the croatian), and wins the set.
this season Rafa is resting far behind, so it seems that he is getting more balls in play and gaining ground.
Rafa has asked Bernardes about time between serves from Marin, beacuase today spends more than Rafa, Bernardes has answered that he gets it controlled.

Toilet break for Rafa.
Delpo is warming-up btw

FedExpress Says:

After facing and not converting the SPs Cilic got broken immetiatedly. with UEs. that is a sign of a mental midget.

gonzalowski Says:

difficult still for Rafa, Cilic is on mode ‘bully’.

gonzalowski Says:

the effect of Nadal’s ball has caused Cilic to miss those 2 volleys, break yesss!

FedExpress Says:

4 UEs. two of them volleys into the net. to get broken.

and you tell me wogboy he is not a mental midget

gonzalowski Says:

Delpo is gonna play

gonzalowski Says:

a little physical slump from Rafa, right? and Cilic recovers the break and commands 4-3

Anto Says:

Nadal playing really bad in this second set. Cilic also playing very inconsistent

gonzalowski Says:

yes!!!! 10th final this season for Rafa. Very nice match

gonzalowski Says:

another victory on hard against a top ten

Rick Says:

An injury free Cilic played better than he did in the Wimbledon final. He served his way out of problem on the second set. But Rafa played better.

Wog Boy Says:

Agree FE,
Cilic was a mental midget at this year Wimbledon final, but not tonight, tonight for a difference he fought best he could against the best in the world, he gave it his all for a difference of Wimbledon final.

jatin Says:

Rafa is on fire these days, 15 match winning streak shows how dominant he is right now. He is looking scary good.
Fed looked awesome as well and playing a lot better here than US open series.
Its time for another FEDAL. GO FED GO….

Wog Boy Says:

Superfast, low bouncing indoor court, guess who is the favorite?

FedExpress Says:

So Rafa Fans,

Who is the player of the year this season? Should be Federer.

He owned Rafa this season. According to you the h2h plays a big role.

Federer played less tournaments but won nearly the same tourneys as Rafa. 2 GS wins, 2 Masters titles like Rafa.

FedExpress Says:

Interesting to see if Delpo faked a bit too much yesterday to make Federer feel secure.

FedExpress Says:

a more stubborn player than federer has to be born. expose his BH mate

FedExpress Says:

Close game. Delpo escaped. Some nice hitting.

FedExpress Says:

and no signs of a wrist injury

FedExpress Says:

He fakes something yesterday Delpo

the BH down the line winner

chofer Says:

@FedExpress

There was no injury. Just a contussion. Anyway, Federer is looking fast and his BH better than the whole week.

chofer Says:

I think Federer is rushinh the points a bit.

FedExpress Says:

Federer you joke

chofer Says:

rushing

FedExpress Says:

Delpo has been a spoiler lately.

Will lose to Nadal in straights.

Van orten Says:

Tomorrow he will lose delpo that’s for sure . So hope fed finds a way to win so we will have a competitive final at least

FedExpress Says:

its so annoying that Delpo peaks this year against Federer and literally bends over to Nadal and Djokovic this year.

chofer Says:

Delpo has been hitting the two handed BH well all week. But he’s not explosive on the legs (he has to improve his fitness). Federer might move him a little bit more. Hitting short and long. Mixing it up. He’s rushing, not thinking. But the match is long.

FedExpress Says:

Federer just giving up it seems.

chofer Says:

People, Nadal bread and butter game is wearing his opponents down. Like, duh!

Daniel Says:

Wow, anorher win for Nadal. He really does like momentum.

Wake up and saw fed got broken with DelPo hitotng tip spinnBHs, ao there is nothing wring with his wrist, was just a bad fall yesterday.

Will DelPo spoil the party again? I just hope of he indeed beat Federer he delivers and keep this level (6 aces already in 1 set) and not fold in finals.

Fed only lost 4 poins on serve, but all in 1 game.

FedExpress Says:

After Wimbledon Federer hasnt been the same. Run out of steam I think.

FedExpress Says:

that 2nd serve return says it all. annoyed af and not interested at all.

FedExpress Says:

WTF Federer? what was that?

chofer Says:

Delpo looks tired. I say the match is long. Not moving well.

Daniel Says:

Fed is insisting on BH when you have to move DelPo. This aproach was an example. Should have gone cross coirt but heitted where DelPo was stand on BH for a pssing shot. Make him move

FedExpress Says:

30-30

should have been 2 BPs really

chofer Says:

That was weird!!

Daniel Says:

Wtf was that delPo. Perfect lobby to defend himself to save what would be BP. Damm

FedExpress Says:

go home Federer

WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF WAS THATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

it was your point you goofy

chofer Says:

@Daniel

Exactly! He’s rushing instead of constructing the point. That’s the way Nadal weared him down at the US Open.

Set: 38 min. Ridiculous.

FedExpress Says:

what a garbage set from Federer. Absoultely disgusting.

chofer, Delpo looks always tired.

Van orten Says:

It always feels almost as fed is trying hard to play into delpos strengths. Trying to make it as close as possible. undoubtably Federer is the better player. Tomorrow if delpo wins you wills see nadal exposing every single weakness of delpo

FedExpress Says:

He is losing rallies where he has the upper hand by stupid decision making.

chofer Says:

@FedExpress

You’re not very good fan. Calk down!:))

gonzalowski Says:

oh what a point, great lob by Delpo incredible Fed failed at the end!
it seems Delpo doesn’t hit backhand a lot, he only accompanies the shot.
the two of them without shaving… bad night thinking about Nadal??? :)

Daniel Says:

Looks loke everything go DelPo’s way when he ay Fed this days. This game was an example. Fed plaved almost all returns in and was playing greta bit DelPo was able to win the game on defense.

At least was a fast ser. They can easy play a 1 h and 40 min three set match, faster than Nadal’s semis.

Fed will have to dig deep here if he wants chance at final, another win in Nadal and kees his #1 chance alive.

FedExpress Says:

Play a drop shot for a change.

Margot Says:

Think it’s safe to say JMDP’s wrist is….absolutely fine, as he takes the first set.

jatin Says:

Delpo is playing awesome but his serve would come down to normal levels at some time. Hope it happens soon. Fed is playing good overall as well. Hope he comes back and wins somehow

chofer Says:

FedExpress

Delpo always looks tired. True. But I’m saying he’s not explosive on the legs, which is entirely another thing. Federer is rushing to face Rafa. Not a good tactic.

FedExpress Says:

Line calls have been horrific

Daniel Says:

I am impressev with DelPo’ ace count, 8 for him in 5 service ges is a lot. Similar to USO.

Wanna know how many he will serve tomorrow if he wins today, 4 or 5 total? Mark my words

FedExpress Says:

Fed will find a way to choked just like the 3rd set vs Delpo at the USO.
Nearly all the losses to Delpo have been chokes

USO 2009, Basel 2012, USO 2017, WTF 2009 and 2012 to an extent.

FedExpress Says:

Delpo wont hit winners and aces tomorrow like today.

It will be like the USO. First set competitve. Gassed after that one.

Van orten Says:

Daniel as I said above, Federer makes delpo play his best so normally you have a great close match . Nadal will totally destroy delpo by bringing back every ball . Still confident Federer will win today though

chofer Says:

@Daniel

The match is not over. And it’s not easy to ace Nadal. Unlike Federer, he waits far back to have a better reading and he’s moving better than I think he’s ever done all year, bar the French Open. He’s as explosive as his heydays. Plus, serving fantastic.

FedExpress Says:

Cant see Federer getting a BP even after having billions BPs cause of bad decision making. He would even make a mistake if the court was open by hitting into the net or wide.

FedExpress Says:

Too many balls into Delpos FH.

Now went to his BH and got rewarded

FedExpress Says:

eager to see how unclutch Delpo will be tomorrow.

He beat Nadal in 2013 on this court. Actually destroyed him. But it will be a final and Delpos Masters final record is garbage

FedExpress Says:

Why into Delpos FH?

All the years and Federer hasnt learned one bit

Daniel Says:

Yeah. I knwo the match os far from over, but I just thiught delPo woulbe be a no show today only hitting slices BH.

At least Fed is holding easy, lost only 8 points on serve bar that bizarre game to get brike.
DelPo still serving great, one of his besg serving days, with 12 aces and 72% first serves on. Hard to break him with these stats.

jatin Says:

Delpo is serving like crazy. Aces aces aces….

FedExpress Says:

I dont know why he chokes against big servers now.

He owned them.

Delpo is doing it right.Hitting to Feds BH

gonzalowski Says:

Delpo hasn’t got his backhand well

FedExpress Says:

Good DTL BH followed up by a garbage 2nd serve return

FedExpress Says:

hahahahhahaha

that BH DTL from Delpo. When he needs it he gets it.

FedExpress Says:

So clutch so far from Delpo

FedExpress Says:

Deuce Deuce Deuce

Fed close but not close enough

FedExpress Says:

BP Federer.

He has to take it.

FedExpress Says:

2nd serve and haahdakdjafkasjkjsajfdöbaswf

what tf

FedExpress Says:

i knew it

it was his point

Daniel Says:

Another WTF moment for Delpo. Semes he is able to play points he never does just agaisnt Fed, and saving a BP virtually ober with the ball barely passing the net.

FedExpress Says:

BP again

and netted

Federer, destiny not on your side.

Van orten Says:

For a fed fan This is hard to watch . He really loves to play into delpos forehand..

FedExpress Says:

2nd serve Deuce

and Federer has BP again.

Daniel Says:

DelPo hitting deep all shots, saving BP again. Jes, wha

FedExpress Says:

2nd serve again

and he f it up again

this is just fristraing

BPs on 2nd serves and he cant do anything

Van orten Says:

Delpo will defend breakpoint number 3 with a tweeter shot around the post

FedExpress Says:

2nd serve again and BP again

delpo hast hit a 1st serve for a while

woildnt wonder if he does now

gonzalowski Says:

it seems Delpo has complaint about the crowd disturbing him, the referee has said “I can’t make anything more from here”
what hell’s drive and Delpo saves the 4th breakP

FedExpress Says:

hahahahahahhahaha

he hit a mega first serve and a mega FH

Daniel Says:

Guys, eve Fed is not believing what delPo os doing on those Bp, he is playing his absilte best on those points. Fed ks throwing everything he got, miixng and Delpo alwasy finds away. We need a DF kkkkk

FedExpress Says:

another BP

this game will decide the outcome of the set

FedExpress Says:

BREAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

gonzalowski Says:

annoying crowd, the worship the Fed

“I can’t make more” says the referee again

FedExpress Says:

Break him again. You serving 2nd in the decider is never a wise idea.

FedExpress Says:

So, Fed delicous again.

Delpo complaining.

gonzalowski Says:

Delpo says, “yes, you can make more”
ref, “they don’t understand me”

jatin Says:

Fed finding the 2nd gear
Awesome play

Keep it up

FedExpress Says:

Hope Federer doesnt waste the momentum in the 3rd just like at the USO.

gonzalowski Says:

f**** crowd

FedExpress Says:

bad line calls, good he challenged

0-30

gonzalowski Says:

ref!, go you with the crowd, too

FedExpress Says:

That was bad Fed

FedExpress Says:

SP Federer.

Important point coming up

FedExpress Says:

shiiiiitt

gonzalowski Says:

as Dimitrov said, unbelievable competitor Delpo, he grabs the games like a limpet

FedExpress Says:

What a pick up by Delpo.

gonzalowski Says:

Fed running a lot, trying to close the set now

Daniel Says:

Hahaha Van Orten, he actaully did a behind the lega on set point down. Posesed

Van orten Says:

Tomorrow delpo will be tires and his wrist will hurt hahaha

FedExpress Says:

that tweennnnnner

hahahahahahahahah
van orten you called it nearly

FedExpress Says:

Federer has to serve it out.

gonzalowski Says:

oh my, first time on my life I see a “between legs” and he wins the point, it was a BP too

FedExpress Says:

Think the two missed SP will play a big part down the stretch

jatin Says:

LOL
Delpo is hitting impossible shots on break points which he never hits. He even hit a tweener to save another break point.
CRAZY STUFF

FedExpress Says:

Delpo hitting as hard as he can.

Did Federer win a decider this after serving 2nd? Cant remember

FedExpress Says:

no brainfarts now Federer. Please.

Daniel Says:

Fed’s stat this set is great, of he keeps that he eins. There is so much magic DelPo can do.

75% first in 90% points won. Lost only 3 points on serve whole set and won 44% on return. The match os all Federer, Delpo who managed to scape as the last game with some unbelievable points on important moments and that one bad game for Fed.
Not a single other Federe game went to 30-30. If Fed keeps his serving he will have chances in DelPo’s game.

Van orten Says:

Hahahah guys I’m having fun here . Delpo is on a go for broke mentality today almost like fellow pro favorite Rosol vs nadal at wimby in 2012

FedExpress Says:

HAHHAHA. That net cord

FedExpress Says:

and THat BH return lol

FedExpress Says:

Delpo getting the 1st serve back in.

I dont like the prospect of Federer playing catch up

Daniel Says:

Yeah VO and that’s whats scary because when ot goes in, he is very dangerous.

But i Like what I see from Fed overall. There are no flaws in hos game todays and DelPo and they ate both at very high level. Fed is not makikg silly UR which should bode well if he wins agaisn nadal tomorrow. This is a fast low boucing court and even with Nadal playing more insde the coirr this week, Fed’s style still is more sutiable for these courts.

Hope he wins it and DelPo doesn’t spoil the party again. Nothing better for the race for #1 than the top 2 contesting the finals from now on.

FedExpress Says:

Federer has to break him soon cause Delpo will catch fire at some point.

Daniel Says:

First BP third set. C’mon Federer

FedExpress Says:

BP Federer
its now or never

FedExpress Says:

BREAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

SERVE IT HOMEEEEEEEEE BABYYYYYYYYYYYY

jatin Says:

BREAKS
Fed is playing simply awesome since Set 2.
Would love to see THIS fed against Rafa tomorrow ( if he wins this)

Daniel Says:

2 FHs missed by delPo in a row to get broken. Money shot breaking dwon. Fed smartly anticipated amd moved to BH corner expect DelPo’s isnde out FH, he saw that, got tense and netted the shot.

Now go on and hold without trouble. They he can play even more freely.

gonzalowski Says:

this chinese child on tv was before encouraging Cilic, now Federer… tomorrow, bad atmosphere expected for Rafa

come on Delpo, you can break him at some game

Daniel Says:

Fed is imperious on serve, lost 9 poonts on serve all match in 11 service ganes. Less than 1 per game average. If not that bad game in firat set this would be a ritine 2 sets win.

gonzalowski Says:

Fed listened to FedExpress, and goes with the dropshots

FedExpress Says:

Federer should have apologized after that lucky net cord on the dropper.

FedExpress Says:

Hope Federer isnt so realaxed

Delpo will come hard and hit hard.

FedExpress Says:

After all the years of high intense tennis Federer hasnt lost the desire to win and compete

FedExpress Says:

Nooooooooooooooooooo

FedExpress Says:

F. that was close. how did delpo bring that ball back is a mystery. good that fed didnt panick.

Daniel Says:

2 more holds or an insurrance break in between

FedExpress Says:

Daniel,

Delpo is ballbashing and I dont like that. He could hit 4 straight winners on the return game from nowhere and thats I fear

he is holding more comfortably now.

FedExpress Says:

man Federer

why so tense?

FedExpress Says:

Deuce. f.

now we in a territory of choking

Daniel Says:

2 points away from Fedal

FedExpress Says:

YEsssssssssssssssssssssss

come on make it 5 wins vs Nadal in a row

Van orten Says:

Vamos roger . Tomorrow will be easier

skeezer Says:

Fedal is happening. Another great win frim the Maestro. Delpo is no cupcake opponet.
Now its 36 vs 31-the cupcake draw winner.

gonzalowski Says:

great Federer, difficult match he has went up, great player on his 37

Daniel Says:

Yeah. Sweet revange.

Fedal reusume yet in another final in a venue they never met before, here in Shangai. Can’t wait.

If Nadal wins, break the 4 match losing streak and close year end #1. Record 31st Masters and third of the season.

If Fed wins increase winning streak to 5, keeps #1 race alive, masters total to 27 and third this season.

A lot at stale for both all time greats. Should be a cracker.

Giles Says:

An injured opponent took him to 3 sets. Lol

Van orten Says:

This is the fastest court possible for roger after rod laver arena so I believe roger will be competitive at least .

Van orten Says:

Delpo is always injured always tired . Tomorrow roger will play a fit Rafa and mark my words will have less trouble

t4t Says:

skeezer’s turned up to cheer his perennial cupcake drawee! Fed waltzed to the final playing his “difficult” SF against a wrist compromised Delpo. Ha ha ! Poor Nadal had a tough draw . Hope he has enough energy left to whip the undeserving finalist.

the_mind_reels Says:

A high quality match from both guys. It was clear (for anyone who watched the match) that del Potro’s wrist looked fine. He seemed fine hitting over his backhand and popped a few winners off that wing. Great serving from Federer, which he’ll need tomorrow vs. Nadal. Hoping for a great match!

skeezer Says:

“It was clear (for anyone who watched the match) that del Potro’s wrist looked fine”

Except for t3t & Giles, obviously did not watch the match.
Regardless of the finals outcome, it is good to see Fed still playing well this year @36. Delpo has always been a tough opponent for him.

jatin Says:

I am getting GOOSE BUMPS right now. Its FEDAL again, best possible way to end this amazing tournament. Its always a joy to see them in the same court at the same time :)
Last time they played in Shanghai (It was 2006 Masters Cup which held in Shanghai ), Fed beat Rafa in a very high quality match. I wasn’t even a tennis Fan back then, let alone a Fed fan ;)
Hope fed brings the goods like he did against Delpo tomorrow (specially his serve) , because Rafa is playing one of his Best hard court tennis right now.
Bring THAT NEO backhand with you tomorrow Rog. Super EXCITED

Daniel Says:

Dimi took a set off Nadal and Cilic held multiple Set Points in firsts et and was able txobreak back in second, Fed sure can do better specially as he is playing better and better as the week wen on.

Give Fed a slight edge tomorrow. Nadal had 2 difficult tense matches and that takes its tool on him mentally well.

This is a super fast court and it favors Federer.

Wog Boy Says:

Shanghai is the fastest court on tour, RLA is second fastest. It will be embarrassing for 36 years old if he doesn’t win tomorrow on the fastest court on tour plus indoor.

skeezer Says:

Embarrassing? Eventually Fed is going to lose on “the fastest court on tour” and “indoors”. The guy can’t win forever. He’s 36, his start on tour was way back in 1998. Embarrassed? Hardly. Magnificent? Absolutely!

Wog Boy Says:

“The guy can’t win forever”

Forever? “The guy” hasn’t won much from 2012-17 then he suddenly got “second wind” at 35 years of age…runs faster, jumps higher, lasts longer, stamina not an issue…yes, “second wind”;)

skeezer Says:

^Now your dreaming. Didn’t win much?

2017 5 Wimbledon (Outdoor/Grass)
Halle (Outdoor/Grass)
ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Miami (Outdoor/Hard)
ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Indian Wells (Outdoor/Hard)
Australian Open (Outdoor/Hard)
2015 6 Basel (Indoor/Hard)
ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Cincinnati (Outdoor/Hard)
Halle (Outdoor/Grass)
Istanbul (Outdoor/Clay)
Dubai (Outdoor/Hard)
Brisbane (Outdoor/Hard)
2014 5 Basel (Indoor/Hard)
ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Shanghai (Outdoor/Hard)
ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Cincinnati (Outdoor/Hard)
Halle (Outdoor/Grass)
Dubai (Outdoor/Hard)
2013 1 Halle (Outdoor/Grass)
2012 6 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Cincinnati (Outdoor/Hard)
Wimbledon (Outdoor/Grass)
ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Madrid (Outdoor/Clay)
ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Indian Wells (Outdoor/Hard)
Dubai (Outdoor/Hard)
Rotterdam (Indoor/Hard)

Better than most.

Wog Boy Says:

To be precise, 2012-17 from GS win to GS win, hasn’t won really much, specially wasn’t winning “forever”, almost five years without GS title..and then he got “second wind” at the age of 35..yeahs, sure;)

Humble Rafa Says:

Skeeze,

Now I know why you were missing for many days. Apart from taking care of sick cats, you were collecting statistics on the Arrogant One.

jatin Says:

He got a second wind because he work harder than ever for it. Success won’t come to you if you don’t work hard to get it.
He took 6 months off, worked on his backhand for days and improved it, cut down his schedule ( skipped the entire clay court season) and the two most important things, LOVE and MOTIVATION for Tennis. Same goes for Rafa, who work harder than ever to get back to where he his right now.
Now sit back and enjoy these two champions because they won’t last forever.

gonzalowski Says:

the_mind_reels an skeezer: IMO Delpo BH is not fine for me, at least hi hits weaker than Rafa for example., don’t know if at Shanghai all matches has hit that way

dANIEL “Give Fed a slight edge tomorrow” maybe I’m with you, looking at 2017 AO, Indian wells.

Congrats to all nice Fed fans here

madmax Says:

FedExpress Says:
Delpo has been a spoiler lately.

Will lose to Nadal in straights.

October 14th, 2017 at 8:37 am

FedExpress, you are writing dreadfully, negative posts the whole way through Fed’s match. I can’t stand it.

You have no faith in Roger whatsoever, this is not the calibre of a true fan. Give it a rest now.

Federer in 3 tomorrow. Wow! I cannot wait to see these two titans battle it out. Amazing is what it is. Truly amazing.

madmax Says:

Jatin,

Thank God. You are the voice of reason. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow dear Jatin.

gonzalowski Says:

clearly Giles! the people distracted Delpo and helped Fed to reassemble. They cheered up too much, and the referee didn’t want to make much;
Of course, Rolex is the sponsor, etc. ;)

Willow Says:

The paying crowds can be a bit obsessive when it comes to Federer winning, to the point of cheering on an opponents error ….

gonzalowski Says:

^ yes today it was so

Giles Says:

Gonza. Rolex or trollex?

J.S. Says:

Crowd won’t be like that vs. Rafa…Rafa has as many fans as Roger!

Not sure why Delpro allowed the crowd to interrupt his game, but I didn’t think they were rude, did you?? Maybe I missed that part with the billion commercials!

Hoping for a Rafa win tonight but everyone saying Roger has the edge.

What a good idea – I’ve marked all your words with a couple of rows of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx etc. just as you asked for. Great to see you are inclined towards Rafa. Cheers mate.

J.S. Hi – hope you are not behaving and having fun…..

I’ve missed everyone! Glad to see everyone is playing nice today :)

Excited for the Fedal match tonight (1:30am) ugh!! But, I will be up with my Rafa pom poms, but I like Fed too, BE NICE FED FANS! Just reallly think Rafa is most deserving but I guess who ever wins will be most deserving!

PLEASE RAFA CANCEL BASEL…..No reason to go if he wins Shanghai! SCREAMING IT LOUDLY!

Anyone else excited?

I will try madmax. But its tough. He gave us a super year. But when you see the potential that culd have fared better and played some points better than its difficult for me to stay positive.

Hope he remains undefeated vs Nadal till end of the season.

Would make him the player of the season.
