Defending champion Stefanos Tsitispas and Daniil Medvedev headline the Marseille indoor event.

After his big ATP Finals crown in November, Tsitsipas enters off a sub-par 3-4 start to 2020.

Tsitsipas and top seed Medvedev will be joined by fellow youngsters Denis Shapovalov, rising teen Jannik Sinner, 2018 champ Karen Khachanov, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Hubert Hurkacz.

Also in the field are veterans Benoit Paire, David Goffin, Marin Cilic, Richard Gasquet and 2-time winner Gilles Simon who is unseeded.

Medvedev could meet Sinner in the second round while Tsitsipas might face Gasquet in his title defense opener.

I knew something was up with Federer. I didn’t expect knee surgery though. Wow. OUt until June at least.

Dave Says:

Medvedev is the next Gen Slow balling player that is so frustrating to play. But Simon is the master at it and has now beaten Medvedev all 3 times at his own game. It’s interesting how matchups work in tennis. Medvedev has now lost 3 of his last 4 matches and has completely collapsed mentally.
