Medvedev Bids For First Title Of 2022 In Mallorca Title Defense; Tsitsipas No. 2 Seed

After back-to-back runner-ups, world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev will hope to get back in the win column in Mallorca where he won a year ago.

The Russian will be joined by No. 2 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, No. 3 and 2021 Wimbledon semifinalist Denis Shapovalov and Pablo Carreno Busta who is fourth.

Medvedev will open against former Australian Open semifinalist Aslan Karatsev who won his first match today.

While Shapovalov landed with Tsitsipas in the bottom half, Medvedev could see opposition from Nick Kyrgios in the quarterfinals. The Australian made the semifinals in Stuttgart and Halle.

Home Spaniards Carreno Busta and Roberto Bautista Agut could also be in the path for Medvedev.
