Defending Champion Tsitsipas Hopes To Get Off The Schneid In Mallorca

Stefanos Tsitsipas may have found love off the court with Paula Badosa, but the Greek star has been struggling between the lines having lost three of his last four as he comes into Mallorca for his title defense.

The 5th-ranked Tsitsipas is the lone Top 30 seed in the field which also features Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and big hitters Ben Shelton and recent Halle winner Alexander Bublik.

No. 1 Tsitsipas is projected to meet 6 Gasquet in his quarter, No. 4 Mannarino – 8 Carballes Baena, No. 5 Bublik – 3 Shelton, and 7 seed Zapata Miralles – 2 Davidovich Fokina in the bottom quarter.

The semifinals could see Stefanos Tsitsipas-Adrian Mannarino and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina-Ben Shelton.

The top seeded Tsitsipas opens with a bye then gets the winner of Yannick Hanfmann-Pedro Cachin.

The second seeded Davidovich Fokina awaits the winner of Pavel Kotov-Li Tu.

Last year in the fina, (2) Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated (5) Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(2).
