Tsitsipas, Auger-Aliassime Back In Rotterdam

Both finalists from last year — Felix Auger-Aliassime and Stefanos Tsitsipas — are back in Rotterdam this week.

The field features five players in the Top 10 among the 32-draw event. The top seeds are: 1 Stefanos Tsitsipas, 2 Andrey Rublev, 3 Felix Auger Aliassime, 4 Holger Rune, 5 Hubert Hurkacz, 6 Daniil Medvedev, 7 Pablo Carreno Busta and 8 Alexander Zverev.

No. 1 Tsitsipas is slated to meet 7 Carreno Busta in the quarters, No. 4 Rune and 8 Zverev could collide in the last eight. In the bottom half, No. 6 Medvedev could meet 3 Auger Aliassime, and 5 seed Hurkacz – 2 Rublev are projected in the bottom quarter.


The semifinals are projected to be Stefanos Tsitsipas-Holger Rune and Andrey Rublev-Auger Aliassime.

The top seeded Tsitsipas opens with Emil Ruusuvuori then gets the winner of Benjamin Bonzi-Jannik Sinner. The second seeded Rublev starts with Alex De Minaur then the winner between Tim Van Rijthoven-Maxime Cressy.

Among the notable first round matches: Soon Woo Kwon-Alexander Zverev, Hubert Hurkacz-Roberto Bautista Agut and Daniil Medevedev meets Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Auger-Aliassime opens his title defense against Italian Lorenzo Sonego.

Former champions: Wawrinka, Auger Aliassime and Rublev. Former finalists: Tsitsipas, Goffin, Dimitrov.

Last year, the third-seeded Felix Auger Aliassime took down top-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 6-2 for his first career title.
