Promising 20-year-old Dayana Yastremska has been provisionally suspended from the tour for a positive doping test.

The world No. 29 was charged with a doping violation on December 22 for a testing positive for a mesterolone metabolite in a November 24 urine sample.

Yastremska released a statement on social media denying she knowingly took the drug.

Yastremska will now have the option to appeal the charge in court or await the final duration of the suspension from WADA.

It’s been a difficult off-season for the young star. Just a month ago she revealed a positive COVID test.

The Ukrainian would have been seeded at the Australian Open.
