Murray, Hurkacz Headline ATP Metz Draw
After a tough outing last week at the Rennes Challenger where he lost first round, Andy Murray continues to fall run in Metz, France.
The former No. 1 is joined by top seed Hubert Hurkacz, bronze medalist Pablo Carreno Busta, French favorite Gael Monfils and Alex De Minaur among the top 4 seeds, all of whom received a bye.
Murray opens against the lefty No. 6 seed Ugo Humbert. The two met just once before with Murray winning at 2019 Antwerp.
If Murray advances, he could meet Vasek Pospisil and then the top-seeded Hurkacz.
Hurkacz will face the winner of Lucas Pouille and a qualifier in his opener. Pouille, Monfils and Gilles Simon are among the former champions in the field.
The 2019 edition of Metz was won by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who defeated Aljaz Bedene in the final. That remains the most recent of his 18 career titles as well as last final.
