With Ash Barty still celebrating her historic Australian Open title, the WTA goes full throttle this week for the big money event in Dubai.

Eight of the Top 11 players are in attendance led by top seeds Aryna Sabalenka, Barbora Krejcikova, Paula Badosa, Anett Kontaveit and defending champion Garbine Muguruza.

Iga Swiatek, Ons Jabeur, Danielle Collins and Coco Gauff are also in the field along with a few familiar names a little further down the list including Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova and Victoria Azarenka.

The first round is full of interesting matches.

Kvitova collides with Camila Giorgi, Sofia Kenin faces fellow Slam winner Jelena Ostapenko, Halep draws Alison Riske, Gauff gets Jessica Pegula and Krejcikova meets former Top 5 Caroline Garcia.

In the quarters, Sabalanka could meet Swiatek, Badosa-Jabeur, Kontaveit-Muguruza and Collins-Krejcikova.

A year ago, it was Muguruza best Krejcikova to end a 2-year title drought.
