Rublev Wins In Banja Luka, Djokovic Back Friday

In Banja Luka in second round action second-seeded Andrey Rublev enjoyed an easy victory over Juan Pablo Varillas 6-2, 6-2.

Rublev dropped just six points on first serve and never lost serve in the comfortable win. The Monte Carlo champion has won his last six matches and tomorrow takes on Damir Dzumhur in the quarters. Dzumhur upended Richard Gasquet.

Jiri Lehecka also rolled, blasting past Radu Albot 6-0, 6-2 and Miomir Kecmanovic also advanced.


Tomorrow in the quarters all eyes will be on Novak Djokovic who returns to action against Dusan Lajovic. Djokovic is a perfect 2-0 against Lajovic but they haven’t met since the 2018 Monte Carlo Masters.
