Keys Claims Second Eastbourne Over Kasatkina
Madison Keys won her first title in nearly four years easing past Daria Kasatkina 6-2, 7-6(13) in the final of the grass stop in Eastbourne.
The 28-year-old American picked up her seventh career title, first since Adelaide last year.
“I love coming and playing in Eastbourne. Being able to win the title here twice now makes me have very fond memories,” Keys said to the WTA.
Keys saved four set points in the 28-point second set breaker as she wins her second Eastbourne after 2014.
The American, who had four love holds in the match, never lost a set all week and that included a strong win over Coco Gauff in the semifinals.
Keys has now won nine of 11 tour-level battles when facing Kasatkina.
Kasatkina was also eyeing her 7th career title, first title since 22 San Jose (d Rogers).
