Tommy Paul topped Lorenzo Musetti 6-1, 7-6(8) to claim his biggest career title taking the 500 level event at Queen’s Club in London.

After cruising early up a set and a break in his second grass final, Paul couldn’t serve it out in the second and then had a save a match point in the breaker.

“Hearing about the names in the locker room, it is unbelievable,” Paul told the ATP of the previous winners. “It was my goal to put my name next to them.

Paul hit six aces, was 3-of-4 on break chances while broken just once. He lost just one set the whole week that to Brit lefty Jack Draper who had just stunned top seed and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz.

It was Paul’s third career title and second of the season after Dallas.

The win also moves Paul ahead of Taylor Fritz to become the top ranked American man. He’s now 3-0 against the Italian Musetti.
