I doubt that Stefan or any other kid of a famous tennis parent or parents would actually work hard at any profession to rise to the top. Too much money and famous parents= No fire in the belly.

Yes and and no.
Yes, it’s is hard for kids to replicate their parents success and parents shouldn’t put that kind of pressure on them, because evry human being is different and have different things of interest and desire to pursue different things in their lives, different from their parents.

No, I don’t think just by having a pleanty of money means that kids won’t develop into hard working person that will pursue their own career and strive for perfection in what they are doing, it depends hugely on upbringig in which these kids can develop proper atitude and life philosophy, everything starts at home.
There is pleanty of kids of successful and rich people who became successful on their own rights in the life and career they’ve chosen, same as the oposite who were spoiled by the glory and money of their parents and wasted their life.
There is no rule, it is up to individuals and respective upbringig.
I don’t know if this makes any sense, due to my English?

wog boy, sorry I do not agree. Can you give examples of children of world famous and rich people who also went to the top of their professions? As far as I know, in tennis, no child of no. 1 player became no. 1.

tv, I do not follow any sports other than tennis. If you could give me examples of tennis number 1s who were children of tennis number 1s, it would make sense to me.
I can, of course, accept your statements on faith. I do not know what constitutes genius in other sports so I have to believe that you are giving examples of two generations of geniuses ( not just great talents) in other sports who were at the top of their professions.

There’s a list. I do not know of any such stars in tennis, but it puts to rest the idea that a rich kid can not have the drive to succeed in an ultra-competitive environment. I’m not interested in an argument. You seemed to be looking for examples to understand if it can happen, there are examples.

Very cute. To the rest of us, Djokovic is the dominant #1 ranked player and we would be watching him, but to Stefan he is his father, which may explain why Stefan seemed more interested in looking at the net. :-)

Just because it hasn’t happened before, it doesn’t mean it will never happen in the foreseeable future and things are heavily titled against Stefan due to his accident of birth. Everything has a first in this World and History never had this tendency to be consistent although many events get repeated as a natural cycle. Who knows Stefan might break that barrier to emulate his father’s golden shoes. It all depends on his attitude and if it is positive then his parental connections will become a blessing in disguise.

Michael, it is not impossible but doesn’t mean it is probable. It could happen. A monkey typing randomly on a typewriter for sufficient number of years could type whole of Shakespeare. Anything which can happen will happen sooner or later. I don’t know why we are arguing this point. I think after making my initial correct statement I got sidetracked by WB and others. So I want to clarify. The probability that Stefan will be tennis no. 1 is very low i.e. highly unlikely but it is NOT impossible.
