Posted on September 6, 2006Rain again held up play Tuesday at the US Open as no men's matches were completed.
When the showers halted play, No. 7 seed Nikolay Davydenko led No. 17 Andy Murray 6-1, 5-7, 6-3, and unseeded former No. 1 Marat Safin led No. 14 Tommy Haas 2-1 in the first set.
On court Wednesday are (1) Federer vs. Gicquel, (9) Roddick vs. (15) Hewitt, (14) Haas vs. Safin (to finish), (5) Blake vs. (12) Berdych, and (7) Davydenko vs. (17) Andy Murray (to finish).
"Both of us are in the same boat in a lot of ways," Hewitt said of squaring off against Roddick. "We both know what to expect from one another's games. We've played enough times. We've played enough big matches, as well. At the end of the day, it's going to be who can execute well on Wednesday, and who does that best is going to win."
