Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka is parlaying her new fame on the talk show circuit. The new WTA No. 1 ranked player appeared on the Ellen Show Tuesday after a stopover in L.A. from Melbourne.

The 22-year-old who beat Maria Sharapova 63, 60 Saturday at the Australian Open, revealed to Ellen that she nearly gave up the sport.

“I think there was a slight second that I thought about it then I bounced right back,” Azarenka said.

Ellen then present the Belarussian with a teddy bear – she likes teddy bears.

Azarenka returned the favor with one of her tennis racquets.

Victoria is now on her way to Fed Cup in Massachusetts where she and her Belarussian teammates will take on the U.S. and the Williams sisters this weekend.
