Late in his win over Marcel Granollers, Roger Federer broke out a new shot. Known for his sublime one-handed backhand, Federer went to two hands for this reply lob just to keep himself in the point, which he one with a terrific 1-handed backhand winner.

I think I’ve seen him once hitting a two handed BH. Against probably Karlovic at Australian Open in 2013. Lost that point though

ehh that wasn’t really a 2 handed backhand. The lob was, but it was more for control. The winning shot was classic one handed.

I’d bet Federer practices a real two-hander. It would be entertaining if he started using one and it was a good one, at this point in his career. And it could give him extra life on tour (maybe), like updating his racket did last year.
