Rafael Nadal Now a Shareholder in Real Mallorca Football Team [Video]
Just hours before Spain and Holland meet in Sunday’s World Cup final, Rafael Nadal has inked a deal making him shareholder in the football team Real Mallorca.
Unfortunately, Real Mallorca was in real need of money and the Wimbledon champion and footballer lover was happy to help the team which plays on his home island.
“It’s an honour to be able to help Real Mallorca, I will help in any way I can,” said Nadal who in the past expressed his allegiance for Real Madrid. “I am proud to be a part of this new project put together by Mallorca locals. I am very pleased to have Laudrup as the new coach and as the image for the club.”
The cash-strapped team placed fifth in the La Liga division.
Nadal has football in his blood. His uncle, Miguel Angel Nadal, was a top player for Barcelona and Spain. He is already in South Africa for the big match tomorrow – Rafa was unable to play in Spain’s Davis Cup defeat earlier today because of knee treatment.
Rafa won a million pounds for his second Wimbledon title last Sunday.
